It’s common knowledge that the shape of your eyebrows can either make or break your appearance, and with brows being bigger than ever (quite literally) we wanted to answer THE question everybody is asking…

What is the difference between HD Brows and microblading?

HD Brows

For those of you who haven’t enough brow hair to create the HD Brows look straight away, have the option of going on a regrowth programme. With regular appointments, recommended every 4-6 weeks, and daily application of our Lash & Brow Booster , that will help to enhance length and volume, you’ll soon have the brow arches you always dreamed of.

We’re proud to be the experts in brows, and our HD Brows Stylists – educated exclusively by us –have helped to re-shape and re-grow thousands of brows around the world. To find your local Stylist head to our Salon Finder here.

Microblading

Microblading is a semi-permanent technique that sits under the tattooing family. Pigment is implanted into the skin, with a fine needle hand-held tool, that creates hair-like strokes to mimic the appearance of a natural looking brow.

Similar to an HD Brows Stylist, a microblading technician meticulously brow maps the shape and style of the eyebrow, taking in to consideration face shape, hair growth and colouring – drawing each hair stroke onto the skin to follow the shape of the existing hairs. If there are no eyebrow hairs, a skilled technician will design a natural looking brow to suit your face shape.

Microblading is most suited for those who want to restructure, define, cover or fill over-plucked brows, being most popular for those who can no longer gain any natural hair growth.

So now you have the information about both treatments, how do you choose which is right for you? We’ve pulled together some things to consider before you take the plunge:

It Needs To Be Right

HD Brows needs to be maintained every 4-6 weeks, whereas microblading lasts a lot longer, with 6-monthly top-ups highly recommended by most technicians. But what if trends change or you want a more au naturel look? Why not try the HD Brows treatment to see what eyebrow shape can be achieved with your existing brow hair first? You’ve nothing to lose and may even be surprised by the finished look – the treatment has been referred to as a mini-facelift after all!

Upkeep Of Your Brows

Don’t forget, your brow hair will still grow after microblading, so you’ll still need this tidied up with an HD Brows Stylist on a regular basis.

If you think the HD Brows treatment isn’t achievable for you, take a look at this HD Brows convert who achieved brows of envy in just 8 month – yes really, just 8 months and regular visits to their Stylist transformed these once heavily drawn on, sparse and gappy brows.

Price

HD Brows start from £25 depending on the Stylist and the location, a much more inexpensive treatment compared to the pricier rate of a microblading technician – on average technicians charge anything from £200-800 for the treatment, again this all depends on their industry experience and skill. You need to ask yourself – what can you afford and can you maintain the aftercare?

Remember To Do Your Research

We always say you should choose your HD Brows Stylist like you choose your hairdresser. The same applies for a microblading technician. It’s so important when considering a semi-permanent treatment to your face that you don’t go and book it on a whim, make sure you go with an experienced, insured practitioner and you’ve seen examples of their work. It’s like anything, you really get what you pay for, so the cheapest option won’t necessarily be the right one. We know for certain that our friends over at Karen Betts professional are at the absolute top of the microblading game – take a look at their work here.
